SEC football has been played since the 1933 season, when Alabama won the first of its 29 SEC championships. In preparation for the arrival of Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12 in 2024, the league office has been working on a new football schedule rotation with a 16-team league. I am as mystified as Alabama Coach Nick Saban as to what possessed the SEC office to use the most recent ten-year snapshot of SEC football performance to determine top tier and bottom tier teams.
